Usagi leaned against the cool windowpane, gazing at the sky. Her
eyes were searching for a star to wish upon. As she scoured the
night sky, a lone streak fell through the sky. Before it was gone,
Usagi closed her eyes tightly and made her wish.
"I wish to find my one true love"
Mamoru sat in a similar position as the famed Odango, head against
windowpane, eyes gazing out into the sky. As he watched a star shoot
through the midnight darkness, he closed his eyes, and wished.
"I wish to find my one true love"

Usagi shifted slowly in bed, aware of a soft cooing in her ear.
She waved her hand in the air, not wanting to get up.
"Its too early to get up, Mommy. Let me sleep"
"Aaaa aa oooouuu eee ee ouuu aaa?"
Serena jerked up, aware now that her mother was beginning to
sound like a monkey. Glancing around her dark room warily, she
spied the offending creature in the corner. The monkey leapt onto
her bed, doing a little dance, its mini tuxedo coatails flapping
about behind it.
"I, Great Love Monkey, will tell you
Of a tale of lovers, numbered Two
And when my little rhyme is done
Your love will find you, numbered one.
His name starts with an M
And ends with a U
You have to admit
He's handsome too
You call him baka
Although he is smart
But there is no denying
He's stolen your heart
I shall return tomorrows eve
Again this rhyme, I shall leave
And within three days time
Your love will tell you of
a similar rhyme.
If this love is not to be
Your lonely heart will belong
TO ME!!!"
With a tip of its tiny top hat, the little creature was gone,
leaving only a slip of paper with the rhyme scrawled messily on it.
Usagi sat dazed, wondering what on earth the monkey was
trying to tell her. <>
Mamoru's alarm went berserk, blasting out his ear. He leapt
out of bed, thinking for a breif moment, before realizing that
it was the early hours of the morning, and the sun had yet to
break over the horizon. Reaching over to shut the offensive
sound off, his hand came into contact with a small fuzzy
monkey wearing a pink dress and a little yellow wig of hair.
"I, Great Love Monkey, will tell you
Of a tale of lovers, numbered Two
And when my little rhyme is done
Your love will find you, numbered one.
Her name starts with a U
and ends with an I
and you always wish
you were her kind of guy
You call her Odango
because of her hair
And in love and war
All is fair
I shall return tomorrow’s eve
Again this rhyme, I shall leave
And within three days time
Your love will tell you of
a similar rhyme.
If this love is not to be
Your lonely heart will belong
TO ME!!!"
With a clumsy pirouette, the little monkey dissapeared.
Mamoru sat bewildered, immediately recognizing the
word Odango in the monkey's chant. "You call her
Odango, because of her hair...Impossible!" he thought.
"I can't possibly be in love with..."

"Usagi! Hey, what's up?" Motoki called out to his old
friend. His voice betrayed his worry for the young girl,
as she had large bags under her eyes and looked like she
hadn't slept for days.
"Motoki-kun" she said, looking up at him
"Lately at night, this little monkey has been visiting me.
It leaves little rhymes to tell me who my one true love is
and it keeps saying that I'll find him in three days time
from the first time I saw it...but Motoki-kun..its already
BEEN three days...and if I don't find my love today, then
I'm going to have to marry the monkey!" she cried out
"Usa-chan, I think you've been having a little too much
sugar lately" was Motoki's reply as the bells to the
Arcade jingled slightly.
"Well well well, if it isn't little Odango Atama."
came a dry voice from behind her. "Whats the matter?
Failed yet ANOTHER test?"
"Leave me ALONE you MEAN BAK..." Usagi trailed
off at her familier name for Mamoru... <>
Mamoru stared down at Usagi, slowly realising
what other people saw...Usagi was beautiful, he had
never doubted that...but he had been so busy
trying to find the faults in the girl, that he
had never bothered to see just how wonderful she
was. Now she was staring at him, open-mouthed, eyes
wide with shock.
"Um..Odango? You in there?" he said, tapping lightly
on her head.
"This is NOT happening to me" Usagi whimpered.
"I have to choose between a MONKEY and MAMORU!!" she
wailed, tearing out of the arcade at a lightning speed.
~A monkey..and me? "And within three days time, your love
will tell you of similar rhyme.." Could it be that Usagi
has had a visit from that creepy monkey too?~
Usagi curled up on the park bench, crying softly.
She had always had a little crush on Mamoru, but
it had never gone past that. Sure he was cute, but
what a jerk! ~All he ever does is tease me anyway.
I don't WANT to marry a monkey...but Mamoru doesn't
love me so I have to anyway~
Usagi's head jerked up as a hand came down lightly
on her shoulder.
"Usagi? Are you alright? You didn't look too good
back there at the Arcade."
"I'm fine, Mamoru-baka. Now leave me alone. I'm
not in the mood for your insults today"
"I'm not here to insult you, little Odango."
Usagi stood up, and spun around, her hand contacting
Mamoru's cheek with a loud *SLAP*.
"MY NAME IS USAGI! U-SAG-I! I'M NOT AN ODANGO
AND I'M SICK OF YOU CALLING ME THAT!" she screamed.
Mamoru just stared in shock as the girl tore away from
him yet again. ~It always ends up like this..I stand here
staring while she runs off crying. If that damn love monkey
is so great, then why can't it help me out now?~
Usagi stumbled and fell not to far from where she had just
smacked Mamoru. She lay there in the bushes, sniffling,
struggling to get up, when she heard a familiar voice
behind her.
"Running away from your love, you are
But careful, hark! Run not to far
For if you do, your love, I fear
Ends forever in this spot here."
Usagi turned around, facing the direction the voice
had come from, only to bump into Mamoru's chest.
"You're pretty scratched up there, Usako." he whispered,
leaning down and gently kissing a scratch on her cheek.
Usagi let out a small gasp and found herself trapped
in his arms. "I never meant to hurt you, Usa. I was just..
jealous, I guess. You're perfect, you're life is perfect,
people love you. I don't have any of that. I was so busy
trying to find a fault in you that I ended up hurting you
when I never meant to. Please forgive me, Usako?" he
said, dropping to his knees in front of her. Usagi
stared at him open mouthed.
"I...but...we...you..." she stuttered. "Usako?"
she asked incredulously. "I..I guess its a step
up from Odango, isn't it?" she asked, with a
hesitant smile.
Mamoru threw his arms around her waist, picked her up
and spun her around, grinning like a loon the entire time.

Motoki lifted the dirty plates from the table, freezing
as he glanced out the window. His eyes found the locked hands
of his two closest friends, Mamoru and Usagi, and the plates,
along with his jaw, dropped.
Usagi was skipping down the street, dragging a laughing
Mamoru behind her. As they neared the door, they caused
Motoki to drop two cups of hot chocolate all over himself.
They entered the door of the Arcade, hands and lips locked
together, and neither looked like they planned on seperating
from the other anytime soon.
Motoki turned to get a mop, slipped on the hot chocolate,
and went flying into the kitchen, flipping up to land in
a pot of cold soup. He heard Mamoru call out for a chocolate
sundae with two spoons.
"I'm stuck headfirst in a pot of cold soup, and they want
a SUNDAE?" he grumbled, prying a few noodles out of his
hair.
Mamoru and Usagi glanced up in shock as a wet and grumpy
Motoki slammed a sundae down in front of them. Noodles,
vairous vegetables, and what resembled marshmellows clung
to his dripping clothes and hair. All they could do was giggle.
As Motoki returned from the kitchen with a mop and a bucket
of hot water to mop up the hot chocolate, or what was left of it,
Mamoru spooned a big scoop of ice cream into Usagi's waiting mouth.
As her lips clamped down on the spoon, his clamped down on hers,
causing Motoki to spill the scalding mop-water all over himself.
"AAAGGGHHH! GOD *censored*!!! WHAT THE *censored* IS *censored*
GOING THE *censored* AROUND THIS *censored* PLACE??" He yelped
as the water sloshed about him. "You two!" he cried, pointing
an accusing finger at the two love birds. "You're doing this
on purpose, aren't you? What, is it 'Lets make Motoki's Day
REEEAAAAALLLLYYY Bad' Day?"
"Chill man," Mamoru chuckled "Blame it on the monkeys"
Leaving the money for the sundae and a genrous tip,
Mamoru and Usagi left hand in hand, off to go shock
Usa's friends next, leaving behind a stunned, and
soaked to say the least, Motoki.
